my name is lisa and i am a student of human behavior. serial killers to be more specific. i have only corresponded with one killer...David Brown who had his daughter, Cinnamon Brown, kill his wife. i am very interested in learning about these people and trying to figure out what makes them the way that they are. It isn't conventional insanity.

i found your web page fascinating. i had gone to the web and typed in Robin Gecht, and found your page. please let me know how i can correspond with some of these people that you mentioned in your page (obviously, some are dead). i have always wanted to write my thesis about the laws that govern us today on insanity. the fact that there are men (and women) out there who are capable of committing such horrific crimes, and yet in the eyes of the law are found sane. there has to be a middle ground.

i realize that these people are sociopaths, and for the most part are functioning individuals in society, however, somewhere along the way they veered off in their thinking and in their reasoning ability. you can read about these people forever, but the only way to truly understand is to get to know them personally.

I am Sergei Shukunda, a researcher at the University of Kazan, Russia. I am now doing some research on what we call "extremist sects" in Russia. The project has as its aim some recommendations for the government departments, mass media, parents and the general public on how to avoid being involved in the practice of the reactionary cults that are similar to the Order of the Solar Temple in Europe or Aum sect in Japan or Jim Jones's or David Koresh's groups in the US.

This topic has become important in Russia as we now have a lot of totalitarian sects that involve young people, brainwash them and take their property from them. Examples are Maria Devy Kristos sect or Vessarion group. There are lots of suffering caused by the activities of such groups, because families are broken, children leave schools, run away with their gurus and sometimes commit suicide. The wave of such religious extremism is caused by the overall instability in the country and the absence of experience in dealing with religious extremists.

The new freedom of religion that Russian now has is not founded on the legislation that would not allow impostors of all kinds to steal the souls of young people. I think it would make sense to study the experience of a country that for 2 centuries learned how to compromise freedom with common sense and the rule of law. Although the US has had its own problems with religious extremism I think this country must have some mechanisms in the form of proper legislation, public organizations or the like that protect people.

I am sorry for this long introduction. Now I would like to state my request: if possible, could you give me the names of US universities where extremist cults are studied or the names of particular researchers who do this kind of research (e-mail addresses) so I could get in touch with them directly and try to find out some more information on the subject?

Richard Ramirez is a man possesed by his own hell. His only means of escaping is to kill.

Richard Chase! In some ways, my favorite murderer. When he was released from psychiatric care his parents were aware of his delusions and misguided behavior, but they were ashamed of him and decided the best thing to do was to pay his rent for him and hope...to not think about it.

His father made a cryptic comment to the effect that Richard's idea that he was being poisoned by his mother might in fact be due to something she did. Maybe she put soap in his food and told him it was poison...something. He was a truly deranged individual--the only "disordered offender" *I* know of-- who committed murder like a monster in a movie: he'd go out and move house to house, look in people's windows; eventually he started shooting in the windows.

His grand finale was to enter a house with a woman and child. He shot the woman and infant, cut the mother open and drank some of her blood out of a yogurt cup, shit in her mouth then took the baby with him. What is really almost funny is that everything he did progressed gradually but inexorably...there were really alarming "signals" that the neighbors didn't react to with enough probity, one might say...

They saw him for several days before his big spree walking in and out of his apartment, always dressed in the same red parka and always *carrying a shotgun*!! Beyond the pale even in Sacramento! But nobody called the cops or anything. And the way the man looked was like a total lunatic, I mean this wasn't simply a man carrying a shotgun around (which would be discomforting enough) but a really loony looking character, long unkempt hair, very spooky eyes.

One of the last William Friedkin movies was based on this case, but Friedkin and the screenwriters did a total hack job on the project. They turned Richard into a "Hannibal Lecter" style criminal (please, enough of the "brilliant, artistic" serial murderer/cannibal model in movies, glorifying serial murder as if it were somehow "intelligent". It's the fucking Nazi model anyway...

I am seeking information about a killer of children in Michigan in the late 60's to early 70's, I think. I think he was nicknamed the Babysitter. There was something about him having fed a child chicken after a mother went on Tv and pleaded for the child's return and said the child liked fried chicken. This killer was known for leaving dead children, usually boys I believe, with ironed clothing and neatly arranged by the sides of roads. I think he strangled the kids, not sure if there was homosexuality involved.

Read your amusing piece on John Lindley Frazier, one problem, he didn't do it. He didn't murder the Ohta family, there were three killers that night. John was framed for the eye surgeons death. It was a political set up, because the good eye doctor was a respected resident of Santa Cruz. Dig deeper, the police were chasing 3 men that night from the scene of the crime. There was no way John could have committed all of the murders in the allotted amount of time. Oh, and you might check into that phony search of the rabbit hutch for the gun. The second search, not the first, found the weapon. And while your investigating, check out Bert and his ties to drugs and gambling. He was in so deep, he would've traded his own mothers name for that reward. John did not kill the Ohta family.

I think it all comes down to an estrogen imbalance. I was twelve at the time Sylvia Seegrist lost her shit at the Springfield Mall. I had gone there to get some Halloween stuff and have a crepe at the Magic Pan with my mother when this camo-clad chic comes through the mall entrance we had just come through. Thanks for being the only page out there listing Albert Fish. I picked up a paperback while on a road trip to Oregon some eight years ago depicting the man and his life. I thought it was ironic because I'm from the particular region in New York where the Fish political family has a long and distinguished public service record (the patriarch of the modern family, Hamilton Fish, passed recently)and I never knew anything about the twisted roots on the Fish family tree until I got way out west. I still have not seen a copy of this book for sale in New York. Is there anything else on him ? I'm interested because this man is said to have had every know psychological disorder known to man at the time of diagnosis, and to have been responsible for the labelling of then-new disorders. That's incredible.

Have you ever heard of a criminal in Victorian England that the press called "Spring-Heeled Jack ? I saw a period depiction of him once in the eighth grade, and have never been able to shake the image from my mind. It gave no description of his crime, but I think it was robbery and escape via impossibly high leaps and bounds over prison and courtyard walls. I 've been looking, but Jack the Ripper gets most of the attention for serial killers and criminals in that era. In fact, there's a page out there that you can find by putting "Jack the Ripper" in on Web Search (I use WebCrawler) that shows the photos of Jack's victims. If you download this, you'll want to click on "Victim's Page", and then click on the head shot of Catherine Eddowes for the most detailed photograph. It really hits you that history has romanticized a real fucking animal.

Something tells me this is very much tongue in cheek, albeit factual. This demented fascination/shockfest is disturbing, pretty much on the mark, and (please, God forgive me), funny. Funny in the way you do your synopsis. Funny because I have a similarly disturbing unofficial hobby - "weirdest ways people can die." Very unofficial. But the guy who was killed by his own bowling ball is fascinating. Or the woman swept away by a freak wave while scattering her suicide mom's ashes.

Okay, it's sick, like watching a freeway accident. Educational - yes. I did a term paper on Murder - methods and motives. I subsequently began dating a guy with a collection of books on serial killers. I quit dating him because I was unsure if he was murdering women vicariously.

I am a university student currently studying criminology and psychology. The extent of your research is remarkable, and has proved to be extremely useful. My only complaint comes from the addition of personal feelings toward the killers in the material. By referring to the subjects as coming "from hell," and regarding them as "white trash," you add a sense of unprofessionalism which takes away from your work. However, I would like to congratulate you on your efforts to provide information to the rest of the world. You are all greatly appreciated.

Aren't you a little worried that someday some sicko will say, "Gosh, mama, I hope some day I'm at the top of the Serial Killer Hit List," and use your site to rank his killings? I'd bet within the next year (or maybe it has already happened) you get a letter saying "watch me, I'll be number one" or something. There are many side-effects to your site, even though you do make fun of the killers (but they would be too stupid to understand it).

It makes me angry that we have become so desensitized to acts of violence. I feel like I'm the only person left who cares more about the victims of crime than their worthless murderers. I hate to be the one to fill in for the rest of the world, but it's true. They are worthless and should suffer for those they have made to suffer. It just goes to show how bad society has truly become when there are people praising killers and spitting on the memory of those slain. If this is the way people are, I am embarassed to be a human.

Today it's common to fear being killed by a mad killer just while entering a shop or crossing the street. Since I've seen the film 'Targets' by Peter Bogdanovich I always look on top of gas tanks, skyscrapers and clocktowers so not to give a sniper a good chance to blow my head off. I, like many other people share an interest in serial killers. I would like to study criminology in later years. Many of you are treating this seriously and realizing the trauma all of the killers victims went through. Some of you think it is humorous. I think you just sick. And for those of you who think of these killers as 'heroes' 'mentors' or 'idols', I suggest you find yourself some help before you too become involved in this crap. If you want to kill and torture many INNOCENT people just to earn yourself some glory because your not talented, fine. But the percentage of people who don't give-a-shit outways the percentage of people who care.......Think about it...

I don't care what your purpose was in making these pages. Reading the email from the idiots who oppose it in the "join the body count" area amused me. It's obvious you put a lot of work into them and I felt the need to congratulate you. I'm obsessed with blood, death, and serial killers and finding your page made me even more so.

There is no such expression as "lighten up" in the eyes of the family of a victim of a violent crime you piece of shit. If you care to express your views elsewhere, you are more than welcome to in other areas of the web . I live in Santa Maria California, 26 miles from Tex Watson's home, the California Men's Colony in San Luis Obispo. I have taken tours of it and it's pretty freaky. Do you think their redemption is just an illusion to get out of the cell?

Please keep in mind that for some people studying serial killers isn't all Hollywood and fun. It is a job, and a gruesome one at that. I am not a fan but am interested in the subject of killings. I have read the book describing the Zodiac killings and after reading your serial killers archive I was deeply disappointed. You state that he 'threatened' to blow up a school bus. In the book it shows plans found and how he did it, YES he did. He blew up a bus killing the people on it. The bomb was set up to detect the time that the sun was not shining on it while the bus went over it and then exploded.

I was very "happy" to see Jeff Lundgren on your list of killer cults. I say happy in quotes because...well how happy can you be with a sick individual like him. I was a police officer with Lakeland college (Kirtlands, main backup units) at the time and was there when the Avery family bodies were found. Came across your Crime Archives while researching child homicide cases. The tone of your descriptions ("tanked up", "smoked", "They tried it, they liked it, they did it again") is offensive in the extreme. I believe there is a point to knowing about these cases (otherwise I wouldn't be doing this research) but to trivialize them into "amusing information" is to deny the tragedy for the victims and their families.

I have a very complex, sad, and intriguing story to tell. A very serious crime was committed against me. Committed against me by the very people who are supposed to protect me -- the Police. I was raped. I am male, I was 35 years old at the time and was given a very powerful drug -- Burandanga, Nightshade, Scopalamine. It goes by different names. Then I was raped. Men can be raped too. He used his hand.

This happened 10 years ago and for the longest time I refused to acknowledge that this happened. After all, how could I, a healthy strong 35 year old male allow myself to be laid down on my own bed and raped? Surely, I either didn't really do it or I must have been cooperative. The perpetrator was a man. Well the way he was able to do it was because of this drug. The way I found out about this drug is there was an article on the front of the July 3, 1995 Wall Street Journal. It makes the victim totally compliant and causes him to have no memory , or poor memory of the event. So now I understand.

I am mad, frustrated, and at times feel horribly worthless because of what happened to me, who did it to me, and the fact that I did not, (was not able to ), press charges and seek justice. I know now how horrible a crime rape is. It degrades the victim in the worst way possible. I am very concerned that there are these drugs out there that can put people under someone else's control. And the fact that it was the Police that raped me, my God, they have since spent considerable effort covering it up.

I am sane. I am 45 years old, college educated, hold down a good job, and have a wife and family. I do not know where to turn or what to do. Below, is a brief overview of my story:

So what happened?

To answer that question is a Loooong story. But here it goes. In 1982 I ran for County Commissioner in a medium sized city. Now 1982 was a non-presidential election year. This town is heavily Republican and I ran as a Democrat. This town is the home of Senator A, then a powerful Senator, who has paid political advisors. It has been said that this town was used by him for D.C. politics as a training ground. I believe they used me (by they, the politicians) as training for going after Senator Hart (the one that fell from grace via Donna Price).

The FBI, for one reason or another, got their arm twisted into doing surveillance on me. Why, I can only guess. My guess is that Senator A. or other heavy hitters in the Republican party put them up to it. Anyway, they tapped my phone, bugged my home, infiltrated my business ( I was a small home builder), offered me prostitutes to blackmail me when my wife was out of town etc, etc, etc.

Something more serious also happened to me. I was raped. Men can be raped too. I was given a drug and this guy raped me in my own bed. It is my belief that he was some sort of sub-contractor for the FBI and was former CIA. The masochist, homosexual Hoover used to do this to "his" FBI boys (agents), tape record the session and use it as blackmail on them. I believe I was raped to be "put in my place", and/or "be taught a lesson". At any rate it was not for the rapist's enjoyment.

Now legally the FBI is not really supposed to do this sort of thing. In 1985 I decided I'd had enough of this town and moved to another town. But my dealings with the FBI did not stop. They continued, somehow to contact me. On two occasions they gave me drugs to make me forget these events.

In 1986 I took a job with NOAA. Somehow some NOAA security guy found out about my FBI history. First he thought I was some sort of mole for the FBI, spying on NOAA. Then he thought I was with the CIA. I believe it was during this time my case was moved from FBI to CIA. The FBI probably wanted this because they had done all this illegal hanky-panky on me and they could blame the CIA for it. Also the CIA can more easily hide behind national security.

Well, since then I have had more dealings with the FBI. I've even had FBI agents who knew about my case advise me to sue the FBI/CIA and try and get my files through the Freedom of information act. I always shied away from this because I did not want to cause trouble and because I was given, I believe, drugs in combination with hypnosis to forget the rape.

Recently my life has made some good strides. I have a good woman with me, and we have a daughter. I have a good job. I finally have found the courage to ask for my FBI file. I have been in contact with my Congressman. I was told to ask for my CIA file. This I have done, reluctantly.

About the time I asked for my FBI file, the FBI has found a way to play back the tapes they made with me during phone conversations from the years 1985 to present. I believe, in some way they are giving me my FBI file. However no one knows what to do about the rape.

I would like to close by saying that I remain a loyal American. I am a good worker, good husband and good father. These things are the focus of my life. However, I believe the gov't has made some serious errors in their dealings with me. I am trying to find a way to see that justice is done. I am trying to find a good lawyer that will take my case to court. There, I will testify and call witnesses to testify and ask the court to award damages. I am also interested in contacting others who have been harmed by these agencies.

These agencies will continue to harm Americans and those overseas until action is take to make them pay for their mistakes. It is legal, moral and important to make sure the Secret Police of the United States of America does not break the law. It is not against the law to run for political office and the FBI should not be used to do surveillance on those that do. I hope you agree.

I have no desire to divulge national secrets. I have never signed a security oath. Do you know if I would be breaking any laws by divulging what I have experienced?

At the very least I would like to be debriefed. Debriefed by someone with credentials in a place where I would feel safe and with a witness.
